Coupon Tip: Are Daily Deals Really a Good Deal?

Coupon Tip: Are Daily Deals Really a Good Deal?

There are so many great daily deals sites out there right now. Sites like Deal Chicken, Groupon, Living Social, Saveology, Savemore, ect... all boast about great savings and deals up to 90% off.  I have personally had great success in my daily deal site purchases and you can too, if you use the following guidelines when evaluating the deals:

1.  Will I actually use this deal? Getting 60% off off of skydiving may sound like fun, if you have been meaning to skydive.  If you have a terrible fear of heights then the purchase of skydiving lessons is not a great deal.  Only buy daily deals that you will absolutely use! If you buy a deal that you never use, then it's not a good deal.

Couponing Tip: What is Overage?

Couponing Tip: What is Overage?

Overage is money over the amount of a coupon's face value.  For instance, when you use a coupon for $4 off any Purina Pet Food and you purchase the smallest size priced at $3.50 per package the coupon is more than the value of the item therefore results in overage on the coupon.  Store coupon policies vary so be sure to check with your local stores for those variances.  Here is what you can expect to happen at the at some of your favorite stores when you  have overage:

Couponing Tip: How to Calculate Price Per Ounce

Couponing Tip: How to Calculate Price Per Ounce

Determining price per ounce or unit price, can be confusing.  Many people assume that buying the larger size products is cheaper because you are getting more of the product.  This is part of the reason that many people assume Costco or Sam's Club offer the best deals, since you are getting more.  That is simply just not true.

Lodi Unified gets tough with rude fans at high school games

STOCKTON - Some fans at a Stockton high school have been told not to come to sports games until they change their inappropriate behavior.

McNair High School is located in North Stockton, but is part of the Lodi Unified School District. The district is cracking down on some McNair basketball fans who are displaying unsportsmanlike behavior.

The fans in question are not fellow high school students, but adults who are watching the game.

Last Saturday, a game against Lodi was called with time still on the clock, because fans had threatened officials. The night before, an athletic director from another school says the McNair fans made fun of an opposing player's disability.

The athletic director says this behavior is coming from the same few people. He says it has been going on for some time and is disrespectful.

The district agrees and is sending out "stay away" letters to those fans.
