Edgar Corrales, 20, and a 16-year-old male were arrested and will be booked for murder with gang enhancements according to the Lodi Police Department.
The two suspects were arrested after Stockton police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle they were in, causing one of them to flee on foot and discard a firearm. Another firearm was located inside the vehicle, Lodi police said.
Both suspects were affiliated with local street gangs. Corrales was booked into county jail and the 16-year-old was booked into juvenile hall, Lodi police said.
Monday's incident occurred around 4:38 a.m. on East Oak Street, less than half a mile away from the scene of another fatal shooting that occurred at the corner of South Garfield and E. Tokay streets.
